091 Llewcie is Retiring

Llewcie's Story

In 2004, Hurricane Ivan struck the gulf coast from Florida to Texas, drenching Houston's hometown of Gulf Shores, Alabama along the way. As friends and neighbors surveyed

the storm's aftermath, one neighbor discovered an abandoned puppy wandering the beach behind their home. The neighbor took the little lab in and introduced her to Houston.

While he hadn't planned on adopting a dog, this little puppy stole Houston's heart and she adopted him with one look. Llewcie became Houston's constant and loyal companion, seeing him through jobs and relationships and new cities as he found his way in the world. When Houston started his studio, she sauntered along, watching him work and intuitively knowing to keep her distance from the hot kilns.

As his studio grew and gathered new people, Llewcie became the studio therapy dog, smiling and loving on everyone who needed a little puppy love. Llewcie's sugar-sweet spirit and adorably devoted disposition kept her by Houston's side as a life-loving, happy-go-lucky duo. We miss that sweet girl already, but we know she's up there now, lighting up the endless green parks of dog heaven and bringing a smile to everyone she meets.

While Houston would have liked to retire 091 'Llewcie' right away, he has agreed orders for one final month on the condition her sales be "paid forward." Because Llewcie was a hurricane rescue, this issue is near and dear to his heart.

From now until November 1st, we will donate all profits of Llewcie Spiritile sales to the Humane Society of the United States' Disaster Relief Fund.
